Positive Behaviour

Picture
School discipline at Sketchley Hill is consistent and encourages positive behaviour and self-discipline. The rules are simple and are kept to a minimum. We expect each person to treat everyone with courtesy, respect and show a sense of responsibility for their own and others' possessions and for the health and safety of everyone. There is an acceptable standard of behaviour underpinned by the positive, firm but fair attitudes of staff. Bullying is not acceptable at Sketchley Hill, we run a programme of anti-bullying activities every year. The behaviour policy is available for reference from the office.

 Special Educational Needs and/or
 Disabilities

Picture
Children of all abilities are catered for. Children identified with Special Needs and/or Disabilities are assessed regularly using criteria explained in the National Code of Practice. The class teacher, support staff and the Special Needs and/or Disabilities           coordinator and organise a programme of work which will help to support the child. Parental involvement is encouraged at all stages. Internal and external testing provides the method by which we evaluate the success of our policy. The Special Needs and/or Disabilities coordinator liaises with the
appropriate external agencies. More able children work
within the classroom on tasks designed to extend their
knowledge and skills.

Charging Policy

Picture
The governors wish to persue a policy of free education for all as far as possible. Most of schooling which requires material resources will be paid for out of the school budget. However a small charge may be made for certain technology and art work. Voluntary contributions are requested for swimming and school visits as the budget is not sufficient to subsidise these activities. Those who take advantage of these activities must be aware that they will be placed at risk, and will have to be discontinued if they are not self-financing. N.B. No pupil will be excluded from an activity based on parental inability to contribute.
