INTENT
  1. We will equip our pupils with the knowledge and skills, especially reading skills, that they need for further learning and in adult life.
  2. Foster and develop a hunger and curiosity for life-long learning and enthusiasm for knowledge in our pupils.
  3. We want to develop the personal character and attributes of our young people so that they are confident, healthy citizens of the future.
  4. Enrich pupils’ lives through a variety of experiences so that they can make informed choices for their own future interests.
  5. A curriculum that is relevant and meaningful to young people growing up in Burbage today
IMPLEMENTATION
The content and sequence of our curriculum is based on the following principles;
  1. The requirements of the national curriculum
  2. The knowledge and skills that pupils need in order to take advantage of future opportunities
  3. Curriculum coherence makes explicit connections between different subjects and experiences
  4. It is progressively sequenced to Year 6.
  5. Content is planned so that it builds on prior learning and reference future learning.
