Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities

Children of all abilities are catered for. Children identified with Special Needs and/or Disabilities are assessed regularly using criteria explained in the National Code of Practice. The class teacher, support staff and the Special Needs and/or Disabilities Co-ordinator organise a programme of work which will help to support the child. Parental involvement is encouraged at all stages. Internal and external testing provides the method by which we evaluate the success of our policy. The Special Needs and/or Disabilities Co-ordinator liaises with the
appropriate external agencies. More able children work
within the classroom on tasks designed to extend their
knowledge and skills.

In our school Safeguarding our pupils and staff is a high priority. Our Designated Safeguarding
Leads in school are Philippa Campbell,

Deputy Headteacher and
Emma Bradbury, Business
Manager. They will deal with all
referrals and concerns about child
protection and safety. Our Safeguarding
policy is available on request.
